Federal reserve Richard Fisher Feb 26 2015

Dallas Fed President Fisher is counting down the days to retirement. His comments carry little weight because he won't be on the FOMC for long.

  • Strong USD to have offsetting effects on economy
  • US economy seeing stout growth, no inflation
  • Growth of 2.5% is quite good
  • Selling holdings of bonds would be last thing we would do to mop up excess liquidity
  • First thing would be to move up short end rates and see how market reacts

Update:

  • Markets have overshot, we are in for a correction at some point

If I had to make trading decisions based on the Fed's Fisher/Bullard or Paul the Octopus, I'd take the sea food.
