How to trade the end of February
The traditional wisdom is that profits are taken, positions are squared and portfolios are rebalanced along with month end. I love it when the month ends on a Friday because it leaves the charts nice and tidy. I'll have a package out on March seasonals later.
Flows favor unwinding winners but it's less of a factor in forex where real money is in change. There may have been some Swiss franc buying yesterday but those kinds of trades are more evident in something like Apple shares, which slumped after a great month.
