Oil prices rally on rumored smaller build at Cushing

Crude oil prices climbed as high as $51.04 from near $49.00 at the start of US trading after an energy research firm forecast a smaller-than-expected build in US supplies this week.

Genscape is rumored to have released a report saying there will be a smaller build at the Cushing, Oklahoma hub in weekly government data to be released Wednesday.

The company publishes its forecast at 10 am ET on Monday and that's precisely when the oil rally today began.
