US Durable goods orders for April

US durable goods ordersFor April show a -0.7% decline versus -1.5% estimate. The prior month was revised to +2.3% from 1.7%,

New orders for manufactured durable goods in April decreased 0.7 percent to $231.2 billion.

This decrease is the first after four consecutive monthly increases. Last month the orders increased 2.3 percent (up from 1.7% previously reported). Excluding transportation, new orders decreased 0.4 percent. Excluding defense, new orders decreased 0.8 percent. Transportation equipment was down - after two consecutive monthly increases- led the decrease with a -1.2 percent.
