French President Sarkozy has called for a debate on exchange rates, saying a “multi-monetary” world is needed.
I can’t imagine this view will be well received by his European counterparts, especially if it leads to a weaker dollar.
EUR/USD has ticked back up to the 1.4055 level from the low 1.4040s.
