The US Senate’s only socialist, Bernie Sanders of Vermont, announced that he wants to place a hold on Bernanke’s renomination, CNBC reports. It is unclear whether that will happen as there will be plenty of pressure from mainstream members of the Banking committee to move the nomination to the full Senate. Bernanke’s term expires at the end of January, if I’m not mistaken.
