Gustav has oil region lined up

Gustav could hit oil and gas production harder than Katrina and Rita in 2005, Bloomberg says. Shut-downs are being wound up throughout the Gulf. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve could come in to play to offset any production interruptions.

Lehman, KDB talks heat up

It looks as though the Koreans may only take a minority stake, but talks with Lehman continue this weekend, the Telegraph reports. Alternate sources of funding are being lined up as well, the paper reports. Shoring up Lehman would leave Freddie and Fannie as the top short-term concerns for the credit markets.
