Damn! Waited too long to get that CHF-denominated Hungarian mortgage

Those looking to take out a Swiss franc denominated mortgage from one of the Austrian banks which dominates lending in Central and Eastern Europe will have a tougher time of it. Austrian regulators have strongly frowned on such lending in the paste, but they have a lot more “moral suasion” at the moment given the banking crisis. If you snoozed on that Romanian loan, you lose.
