In a sign of consumer desperation amid a bleak economy, the annual rite of retailing known as Black Friday turned chaotic and even deadly, as predawn shoppers scrambled for holiday bargains.

Thankfully, eight long years of failed Bush shopping policy is nearing an end…

“Thankfully, eight long years of failed Bush shopping policy is nearing an end…”

    I heard that!

    Something to think about.

The Dow has an inverted head and shoulders formed perfectly at the moment. There could very well be an extension of this rally heading toward 10,500/10,800 (a key area of resistance) through the month of December if economic data isn’t much worse than anticipated. I don’t think it will be. I think the numbers will come in around (or under) expectations and then the onslaught will be on in January.

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Two people were killed in a shooting inside a Toys “R” Us in Palm Desert, Calif., on Friday, one of the busiest shopping days of the year, according to media reports. The Los Angeles Times reported that the shooting, some 120 miles east of Los Angeles, may have stemmed from an argument between two groups of shoppers.”

Also W’s fault one would have to assume.

NYT also reveled in in dreams of pork projects flowing to the Metro area since it is no almost totally “ethnically cleansed” of evil Republican representatives.

    A glimpse into the future:

“He then babbles on about “generating five million new green jobs”. This will presumably consist of hiring millions of Americans to generate power by running around on treadmills, to replace all those “dirty” coal-fired power stations which currently supply the US with half its electricity.”

from the UK Telegraph re. Obama’s “plans”.

Just think of the purchasing power – not to mention health benefits – this would create.

This is what I was talking about. I used one of the Brief’s sponsors (Market Browser) just for kicks. Neat tool for anyone not using it!
