Cable sits presently at 1.5790, pretty much where it closed out Monday in North America. The pairing continues to struggle to hold ground North of 1.5800.

The pairing got a filip from the overnight release of decent housing data and managed a 1.5825 Asian session high before falling back. UK RICS data for September showed those reporting price gains outnumbering those reporting declines by 22%, the largest margin since May 2007.

Elsewhere, BRC like for like retail sales for September came in at +2.8% y/y, total sales +4.9%.
