More QE, drop the base rate…these are some of the policy prescriptions being suggested by then good and the great in the wake of yesterday’s demoralizing drop in UK GDP.

Sure makes Gordon Brown’s job of trying to retain power than much more unlikely…

    hah! his chances of retaining power were zero long before the GDP came out! Conservatives will win the election, probably with a landslide. If they dont I will eat my FXBriefs tshirt.

    P’raps Jamie was referring to him relinquishing power sooner than he might expect?
    The guy is so tortuously blinkered, more and more of us (privately) wouldn’t put it past him to invent a way to declare a state of emergency, thereby putting the mockers on any imminent election – and that includes any time next year.
