Canada’s Flaherty: Unlikely to use “special measures” to curb C$ rise

Canadian finance minister Flaherty is on the wires. He says he is always concerned by volatility in the Canadian dollar. That said,  in the next breath he says he does not see the BOC using special measures (quantitative ease, presumably), to weaken the Loonie. That, combined with recent Russian interest to add CAD to its reserve mix, should keep the Loonie underpinned. It trades firmly now, at 1.0435.
