Australian December PMI falls to 48.5
Australian manufacturing activity fell in December for the first time in 4 months, as new orders and input deliveries all dropped through the month. The PMI fell to 48.5 from 51.2 in November and back belkow the 50 mark, the level that separates contraction and expansion. Rising interest rates and currency have had a strong impact on the number.
No immediate impact on the AUD.
