  • GDP rises 10.7% y/y versus 10.9 consensus
  • CPI up 1.9% y/y vs 1.5% consensus
  • Industrial production up 18.5% y/y versus 20% consensus
  • Retail sales up 17.5% y/y versus 16.4% expected

The CPI rise will keep speculation high that China will continue tightening steps in the months ahead.

A thought that came to my mind. China is a HUUUUGE country. I have been to countries growing at 10% pa. but they were small and yes you can really see how dinamic the economy is. For a country the size of China with vast rural territories to grow 10% on average it must mean that urban areas must be growing at crazy rates of 50, 60 or some crazy % a year. And that I really cant imagine. Really would like to be there to believe it.
