This report in the FT suggests that Wall Street bankers will combine their lobbying power and use the World Economic Forum in Davos as an opportunity to lobby the Obama administration to soften the proposed regulatory reforms.

Big business is going to get a lot of corporate welfare in the coming years- and they’ll use it to finance the politicians they like and to dictate the outcome of elections. Bush Republicans are loving this. Tax cuts will go to big businesses so that they can increase profits, decrease payrolls, and increase their control of the political system. Goodbye to checks and balances. America has officially been bought and sold. Look at the finance industry: they’ve taken taxpayer money and used it to lobby for the right to bring down the system – and get taxpayers to underwrite the losses while they keep the profits – yet again. Somewhere Phil Gramm is smiling crookedly.

sorry.. I forgot to wrap the comment with these tags. [sarcasm on] the comment [/sarcasm off].

I guess I got enchanted by JR logic whereby Obama gives handouts to big corps. for them to fund the republicans so that Obama doesnt win the nex elections and can not keep giving those handouts to them. A real eye opener.

Emilio, Again, I would ask you to keep from making personal attacks. You are free to post your opinions about politics, but should you continue to call me out, personally, then I will have no choice but to either completely ignore you or to waste my time in a stupid tit-for-tat with you. Please make a comment about forex, or geopolitics, or economic policy. Attacking another person for comments is an old game, and it goes nowhere.
