Sarkozy has a change of heart on euro rate

Sarkozy says he is not in favor of a weak euro, according to a wire service headline.

That’s a bit of a change of heart for the French president who was anything but shy about talking down the euro when it was near the 1.50 level. Greece’s near-death experience appears to have opened his eyes to the risks of a collapse in currency rates…

This area in the mid-1.30s is pretty neutral territory. Hard to see any of the central banks being upset with present EUR/USD exchange rates…

EUR/USD is ignoring the comments, trading at 1.3655.

Sarkozy is the typical French politician who’s playing the anti-American card to get re-elected, http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/15/world/europe/15iht-politicus.html

Looks like we are stuck between 1.3650 and the hourly trendline you mentioned once again.

Prices were stuck there between 9-12 gmt. Now we are there again. Should break this area shortly.

Sarkozy should have a talk with Obama and Larry Lindsay.

LOL Sarkozy is so funny when it comes to EUR :-)

He is planning his hollidays in the US, that’s why he wants a stronger EURUSD rate !

Jr, you can’t play the Anti American card in France anymore. Obama has already apologized for us and is currently trying to replicate the French Healthcare system here in the US.

We are now loved over there.
    Don’t you get it?

I don’t see the Europeans investigating the former Greek government for fraudulently floating bonds based on bogus accounting- I see them blaming Goldman, NY and London. As far as I can tell, and despite their oh-so spartan digs in Brussels, the EU elite are just a bunch of dodgy, born into the manor, entitled dilettante aristocrats who’s agenda is to get the lower classes riled up against America, not them. But, hey, if the people of Europe want to pay the extra tax and maintain a ruling class, that’s their business.
