The US current account gap is growing less rapidly than expected, an encouraging sign in a debt-soaked world.

Q4 data was revised narrower and Q1 data was not as wide as expected.

The data shows that the US can still comfortably fund its debts at present, hopefully giving it time to trim spending before the baby-boomers begin to strain the system a few years down the road.
