Now this man; he lives in my world

Dr Martin Weale, the newest member of the MPC, sounds like he’s going to be a useful addition.

In The Times Dr Weale has warned that it would be “foolish” to rule out the possibility of a double-dip downturn.  He fears the Old Lady’s forecasts for growth of about 2.8% in 2011 and 3.2% in 2012 could be too optimistic.

Dangers include a surge in unemployment, further declines in house prices and a new banking crisis.

Phew, that’s a relief.  A man who lives in my world.  You can all call me Dr Davies from now on.

Cable down at 1.5435 from a North American close Monday up around 1.5520, while EUR/GBP is up at .8190 from around .8160.  Talk now of more stops through 1.5400.
