Obama meets with Republican Congressional leadership tomorrow. The White House says they do not expect a deal to be struck on extending the Bush tax cuts at that meeting but do expect one by the end of the year.
They have very little choice at this point because employers need significant advance notice on tax rate changes so they can adjust payroll systems in advance…To let the tax cuts lapse would create a paperwork nightmare for businesses.
