JAPAN DATA: The average assumed dollar-yen exchange rate expected
by major Japanese electronics makers for fiscal 2011 that began on April
1 is Y83.94, according to the full report of the Bank of Japan’s March
Tankan survey released today. The survey showed that large electronics
firms expect dollar-yen to average Y83.73 in the first half of fiscal
2011 and Y84.15 in the second half. Meanwhile, major automakers expect
dollar-yen rate to average a higher Y84.49 for the whole of fiscal 2011,
Y84.26 in the first half and Y84.72 in the second half.
