The Bank of England’s latest meeting minutes will be released at 09:30am London time and the risk to the GBP would seem to be to the downside.

One of the few hawkish MPC members, Andrew Sentance, has left the committee. The risk would now seem to be that the minutes contain a more dovish tone and that the prospects of any imminent rate hike have been dimmed for the near-term future.

Sentance has been replaced by senior Goldman Sachs economist Ben Broadbent. We don’t know much about him but based on what he’s said in the past, he would also seem to have a broad hawkish bent. (Sorry couldn’t resist it!)
