Geithner: Infrastructure spending is like a tax cut

View Comments

I live in Boston, home of the biggest public works boondoggle of the modern era. Sure a shootin’ didn’t act like a tax cut here…

  1. Well, infrastructure spending is good if it’s done wisely – it helps promote economic activity or at the very least, prevents the economy from suffering from infrastructure constraints (I hear US roads, bridges, railways and transmission lines are in need of repairs). But calling it a tax cut is just stupid! Oh and by the way, not paying taxes is sort of like a (personal) tax cut too, Timmy.
