Hi Adam, more QE should push cable lower to below 1.5000?
I don’t think so Pete. The market has largely priced in another 100B pounds of QE already. They’ll need more than that, or more signs of an economic slowdown to push GBP lower.
Adam:
If this is a crisis like 2008, is it possible the USD rallies here after today’s retest of the 7 day SMA on the dailies? I mean, nothing has changed on the political front, no plans, and we now know Germany wont go easy. Seems like the USD could easily test weekly highs for the rest of the week. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Johan
Oh and I forgot to add the volume on the s and p afternoon sell off was much higher than on the up leg the last two days. Seems to support the USD long scenario?
I agree with everything you’re saying Johan, 100%. I could happen today, it could happen tomorrow. The timing is everything.
So Adam, are you likely to take USDCAD long at these levels? What would you be looking for as an entry signal, or do you have a specific price you want to get set at?
I’ve got a really itchy trigger finger. If there’s a really negative headline I’ll jump in but if not I’ll wait until around 1.0050 or see how the dust settles at quarter end.
