JAPAN DATA: Combined sales by Japan’s department stores for November, which are
due out in mid-December, are expected to have improved from -2.4% on year in
October, thanks to lower temperatures that boosted demand for winter clothing:
–Sogo & Seibu said its group sales were +1.7% y/y in Nov vs. -2.9% in Oct
–Sales at J. Front Retailing +5.0% in Nov vs. +2.4% in Oct
–Sales at Takashimaya +1.6% in Nov vs. -1.7% in Oct
–Sales at Matsuya -3.2% in Nov vs. -4.5% in Oct
