  • No cooling system problems at Fukushima, Daiichi ¬†reactors (Reuters)
  • Quake struck at 5.18PM local time, Intensity 4 on local scale of 7 (Bloomberg). Centered offshore 2450km SE of Kamaishi (USGS)
  • Tsunami expected to hit Miyagi Prefecture at 0840 GMT (Reuters/NHK)
  • No Tsunami threat to Hawaii (PTWC/Bloomberg)

  1. Hi Pete, How come stocks are so strong at the moment with euro being a bit soggy?

  2. Morning John , they’re not exactly soaring in fact Spain IBEX and Italy FTSE MIB are lower, with both countries having rising 10 yr bond yields. Think the Shanghai comp set the tone in early Europe.

  3. No, not exactly soaring today, but yesterday new highs while euro fell 120/30 points…unusual to see…?
