Marine Le Pen, leader of France National and modern-day Joan of Arc ( argues AEP in yesterday’s Telegraph) is rapidly becoming a real force in the French political landscape.
In a by-election a week ago her party secured 46% of the vote, beating the ruling Socialists in their own back-yard and is now on a roll, running neck and neck in the polls with the Socialists and Gaullists.
