Just a few more details:
- Abe has already instructed his Cabinet ministers, led by Finance Minister Taro Aso and Economic Revitalization Minister Akira Amari to come up with an economic package by the end of September
- The $50 billion figure is firming up, equivalent to the revenue from about 2/3 of the sales tax hike
- Measures thought to be likely included are a supplementary budget, and tax cuts for corporate capital investment (capex)
