Fed odds

Some money has come in on Donald Kohn and Stanley Fisher also jumped to a 33-to-1 longshot from 40-to-1.

The main problem with Kohn is that he will be at the Greenspanian age of 71 by the time he’s appointed, and Greenspan’s best years certainly weren’t have his 70th birthday. When Bernanke was appointed Kohn was one of the favorites for the job but was passed over and retired as vice chair in 2010. He’s been at the Fed since the 1980s.

Stanley Fisher is also pushing 70 and wasn’t born in the United States. He was the governor of the Bank of Israel from 2005-2013.

Geithner’s odds are falling with sources saying he’s still not interested in the job (he hates Washington).
