A huge ice storm swept across the Southern and Midwestern US over the weekend. This is a cell phone picture I took of our neighbor’s trees. Many branches are cracking and breaking, and I’m sure I will be calling a tree trimmer to come cut branches off the top of my house. Fortunately there haven’t been any widespread power outages that often come with these storms. Ice storms can be unique in the Southern US. As you can see there is no snow on the ground, but the trees are covered in a thick layer of ice.
