After 6 months of wrangling the next tranche to Greece has been agreed, according to the FT. €8.3bn will be trunking its way over in three stages. The first payment is said to be around €6.3bn. The breakthrough in talks between the Troika and Greece came after the Greek government managed to narrowly push through a multi bill of reforms late on Sunday.

An official announcement is expected sometime at todays finance ministers meeting in Athens

Update: And no sooner do I hit the publish button EU’s Dijsselbloem confirms the agreement and that the first slice will be paid this month.

He also adds that ministers will discuss Portugal’s exit strategy from their bailout program on 5th May
