Magnitude 8.0 earthquake off Chile sparks tsunami warning for all of Latin America’s Pacific coast – USGS
- Quake is off the northern Chilean coast
- Chile’s official emergency office says it has requested preventive evacuation of the northern coastline following the quake
- Tsunami warning in effect for Chile, Peru, Ecuador; watch in effect for Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica
- Quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers (six miles), 83 kilometers from Iquique on Chile’s coast

Some reports saying no reports of major damage (let’s hope casualties are at a minimum too)
