According to the Vietnam ministry Chinese ships intentionally rammed two Vietnamese vessels on Sunday. From what I can gather they are having a row over a drilling rig China plonked in the sea and it’s all getting a bit hot under the collar. China has 7 military vessels in amongst an 80 other ships in the area and have been buzzing Vietnamese ships with aircraft and shooting water at others.
The situation is very tense says Vietnam’s Coast Guard vice commander Ngo Ngoc Thu
I’ll only get worried if they start launching water balloons.
