The Bertelsmann Stiftung foundation has completed a study on the benefits of European integration and has found that everyone has benefited from the European project. Obviously some have “won” more than others.

Denmark is not part of the eurozone as 53% of Danes voted against joining the euro in 2000 with 66% now firmly against taking up the single currency, according to a recent poll.

Bertelsmann Stiftung’s economics expert Thieb Petersen further promoted EU membership by saying;

“The EU single market is the heart of European integration and boosts economic growth in all EU Member States,”

It cements the notion that Germany runs the show as far as Europe goes and the rest are there to pick up the scraps.
