China’s regulator is conducting an anti-monopoly investigation into Microsoft reports Reuters.

The regulator says that the company has not full disclosed information about its windows operating system and office programs.

They are investigating Microsoft’s vice president and senior managers and has made copies of financial statements and contracts.

They also say they have obtained documents, emails and other data from Microsoft computers and servers (legally one would imagine).

he only drawback to the investigation is that they say the key personnel are not in China.

So, they’ll be no Microsoft bigwigs visiting the China office anytime soon

;-)

We’ll see what effect that has on the share price later, which closed at $43.97 yesterday

There’s more from the WSJ here (ungated) although there’s not much information about what it is exactly they are accused of. Microsoft said they will play ball with the investigation;

“We will actively cooperate with the government department’s investigation and answer related questions.” said they.
