The Big 3 have all released July sales figures and the numbers are good overall but expectations were even higher. Here are some highlights from the Big 3 and Nissan:
- GM US sales up 9.4% vs est up 11.0%
- Ford US sales up 9.5% est up 9.2%
- Chrysler US sales up 20%, est up 22.5%
- Nissan sales up 11.4% est up 14.0%
Others will be released throughout the day but the picture so far is a touch on the soft side despite the large improvements. One of the things I hear about is a bubble in auto loans and some shady lending practices.
