Spain raked in a billion euros in its first-ever 50-year bond sale today.

We don’t know the yield because it was in a private placement but it came with a 4% coupon so that’s a decent guide. Spanish 30-year yield 3.53%.

Hard to imagine that a country paying almost 8% for 10-year notes in July 2012 can borrow for next-to-nothing now.
