The UK PM is currently addressing the party faithful at the Conservative conference and while Georgie Boy played bad cop yesterday warning of further spending cuts and benefit restrictions Dashing Dave is good cop personified
- pledged to cut taxes for 30 mln people if the Conservatives win next year’s election and said he wanted to raise the tax-free personal allowance from £10,500 to £12,500.
- the threshold for the 40p income tax rate would be raised from £41,900 to £50,000 under a future Conservative government.
- promises to ring-fence the budget by increasing spending in real terms over the course of the next parliament, if the Conservatives win power.
- UK will have lowest corp taxes in G7
The changes would back people who “do the right thing”, and in his speech he has also promised “English votes for English laws”.
