Debate over another consumption tax hike is intensifying within the ruling Liberal Democratic Party in Japan
- Sadayuki Sakakibara, head of leading business lobby Keidanren; “I do think that another tax hike is necessary”
- Kozo Yamamoto, an LDP lawmaker who was involved in crafting the Abenomics policies and is close to the prime minister: “It would be better to postpone the hike by about a year and a half”
