So says Euro am Sonntag in a survey just published

  • 39% of German insurers are raising share holdings, says Euro am Sonntag supported by a separate survey by Allianz Global Investors Europe
  • sustained low interest rates may cause closure of some insurers
  • Allianz to raise stocks holding “slightly” from an average of 7% across all units
  • Generali to raise stocks holding as a % of total investment medium-term to 10% from 6% currently
  • Hannover Rueck to raise stock holdings to 5% from 2%

We know that low interest rates/cheap money drive funds toward stock markets so this is just a look at one of the ways it impacts
