At the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month the Allied forces signed an agreement with Germany that would end World War 1.

Armistice Day has been marked on 11 November every year since 1919 and after the Second World War commemorations were adapted to honour the fallen of both conflicts. Since then we remember all those around the world, from all nations, that have fallen in conflict.

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old.Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. And all shall repeat, we will remember them

Extract from For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon 1914

We will remember them

We will remember them

This year marks the centenary year of the start of WWI and at the top of the hour, at 11.00 GMT, we request, out of respect and sense of priority, that you take your fingers off the mouse and keyboard for just 2 minutes. Not too much to ask is it.

Thank- you
