I would normally say “Good Day everyone” at this point but with the incredibly sad news of the death of Aussie cricketer Phil Hughes that greeting hardly seems appropriate
It’s an awful day for cricket, and for sportsmen/women and fans throughout the world. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the Hughes family and friends, and to Sean Abbott the bowler who inadvertently delivered the fatal blow. The BBC carries this brief tribute to a man who had played 26 Tests, making his Test debut at the age of 20 against South Africa in 2009, and who, in only his second match, became the youngest batsman to post two centuries in a single Test.
