In an emailed statement German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble says that he respects the Greek progress since 2009. He adds:

  • Hard reforms are bearing fruit in Greece
  • Reforms are without alternative
  • Will support Greece on its path of reform.
  • Greece election does not change commitments and agreements made
  • Difficulties if Greence strays from reform path

Greece will need to have a snap election as the PM Samaras was snubbed over Greek Presidential election (CLICK HERE). The next path for Greece could be decided on that vote. Is Greece to remain on the current austerity track or veer off and enter the unknown? Schaeuble supports keeping the status quo.
