NY Fed President to retire next year

New York Fed President Bill Dudley could announce his retirement as soon as next week, according to CNBC.

The 65-year-old will stay on until spring or summer when his replacement is found.

The report says the decision has nothing to do with recent changes at the Fed.

But change is coming quickly. Aside from Powell, Trump has 4 vacancies to fill among governors and now the New York Fed needs a new leader. It's an especially important regional presidency because it helps to regulate Wall Street and has a permanent vote on the FOMC.
