Autodata says that Dec. light vehicle sales SAAR (seasonally adjusted annualized rate) came in at 17.85M units. That was higher than the 17.7M estimate. However, total industry unit deliveries fell -5.2%.

• Sales pace for the year totaled 17.23 million units
• The >17M pace for the year - when coupled with the previous 2 years - is the first time the sales pace has been greater than 17M for 3 straight years.
• Sales were less than the 17.6 pace from 2016.
