The Bank of France releases its latest macroeconomic projections

  • Previous projection was 1.7% in 2018
  • Sees growth at 1.7% in 2019 (vs 1.8% previously)
  • Sees growth at 1.6% in 2020 (unchanged)
  • Sees jobless rate reaching 8.1% in 2020
  • Sees EU-harmonised inflation at 1.6% in 2018 (vs 1.4% previously)
  • Sees EU-harmonised inflation at 1.4% in 2019 (vs 1.3% previously)
  • Sees EU-harmonised inflation at 1.8% in 2020 (vs 1.6% previously)

An overall upgrade to their previous projections. Looks like they are still rather optimistic on growth in the country, and they are also seemingly rather confident that the tighter labour market will translate into higher inflation pressures as well.
