Latest Chinese data on money supply and loans growth released - 12 February 2018

  • New yuan loans CNY 2,900bn vs CNY 2,050bn expected
  • Aggregate financing CNY 3,060bn vs CNY 3,150bn expected
  • Outstanding loan growth +13.2% vs +12.5% expected

A slight uptick compared to December's figures, which was a record low for the M2 money supply reading.

These were the figures previewed by Eamonn earlier here. There is no set time for the release, usually any time between the start of the week until the end.

These are basically credit growth figures, and China has been harping on cutting down financial risks so as long as the trend remains towards the downside, it is a welcome sign for officials there.
