Harrison was the greatest railroader alive

On Friday, railway CSX announced that 73-year-old CEO Hunter Harrison was taking a medical leave. In a sign of just how well-regarded he was, shares of the company fell 7.6% Friday.

The had rallied sharply after he was hired earlier this year. The executive had also led the Illinois Central, CN and CP railways to enormous turnarounds that included huge share rallies.

CSX said Saturday afternoon that Mr. Harrison died from "unexpected severe complications from a recent illness."
