Today brings a speech from Michele Bullock, Assistant Governor (Financial System) at the RBA, followed a little later by minutes of the February 2018 Monetary Policy Meeting of the Reserve Bank Board.

From the top:

2145 GMT - New Zealand - Q4 2017 PPI

  • PPI Input (measures the change in the price of goods and raw materials purchased by manufacturers): prior was +1.0% q/q
  • PPI Output (measures the change in the price of goods sold by manufacturers): prior was +1.0% also

2215 GMT - Australia - Speech by the RBA's Michele Bullock (Assistant Governor Financial System), at the Responsible Lending and Borrowing Summit, Sydney. There is unlikely to be much reference to the economy nor policy, but a heads up nonetheless 'cause you never know.

2230 GMT - Australia - ANZ Roy Morgan weekly survey of consumer sentiment

  • prior 119.5

0030 GMT - Australia - Reserve Bank of Australia - minutes of the February 2018 Monetary Policy Meeting

Expectations are low for this, little in the way of new information is expected to be added given the barrage of views expressed by the Bank in the past two weeks or so - meeting statement, SoMP, Lowe appearance in parliament.

I have posted 4 brief previews here though , if you'd like to review:

Oh ... and here is another quickie not included at that link - via Boa/ML:

  • We expect little new information from the minutes from that contained in the quarterly update

What BoA/ML say is pretty much what everyone is saying. So, I guess, there is room for a surprise. But I don't think we'll get any (s'pose it wouldn't be a surprise otherwise)

And ... as a heads up - there is a dairy auction Tuesday during London time. I'll have more on this to come.

-

And ... a reminder - China are on holiday again today for the new year break.

-

And ... finally (promise!) - a big day in Europe is on the horizon, The ballot on Germany's coaliion formation is on (day 1 of 2). This is a postal ballot of Social Democrat (SPD) members to decide if their party should go ahead with the coalition agreement with Merkel's CDU/CSU. Expect headlines, which may wiggle the euro, but not much in the way of results until Wednesday.

And ... no just kidding, Thats it.
