Not a lot for today - at least China is back from holiday today after the lunar new year break

2350 GMT - Japan - International Securities Flows for the week ended February 16

  • Also due from Japan today, the Cabinet office publish their monthly economic report for February ... but that will later in the session (timing is a bit flexible - around 0130 GMT)

0120 GMT - Neel Kashkari, Minneapolis Fed President speaking

  • Kashkari is at the dovish end of the Federal Reserve spectrum

0030 GMT - Australia - results of the twice yearly Survey of Average Weekly Earnings, which has estimates of average earnings. This won't be an immediate focus for the market but will provide another look at wages after yesterday's lacklustre WPI report

0200 GMT - New Zealand - Credit Card Spending for January

While the Asian calendar is a little uninspiring (probably not much there to immediately move the forex needle) Europe and US times are looking more interesting:

  • UK GDP
  • European Central Bank minutes
  • Canadian Retail Sales

I'll have more to come on these separately later, GBP and CAD traders, stay tuned (or check back later).

And, of course, tomorrow in Asia brings ... the huge, ginormous (only kidding, the subdued and meek) Japan CPI data. Another reason to look forward to Friday!
