A preview of what is to come on the day in European trading

Howdy, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend and that you're all ready to jump back into things this week. It's going to be a fun-filled week, with trade talks, politics, central banks, and to cap it off we'll have the US non-farm payrolls on Friday.

So far, the landscape of trade talks and the uncertainty surrounding it (plus some element of uncertainty in the Italian elections) is weighing on equities and that is also leading to safe haven bids in the currency space. Here's how the major currencies are performing against the dollar so far today:

Anyway, here's what is on the agenda today in Europe:

0815 GMT - Spain February services PMI

0845 GMT - Italy February services PMI

Prior figures can be found here (Spain and Italy). Minor data points, as the main focus lies on the French, German, and Eurozone readings - and we already had preliminary figures earlier last month.

0850 GMT - France February final services/composite PMI

0855 GMT - Germany February final services/composite PMI

0900 GMT - Eurozone February final services/composite PMI

These are final figures, so not much impact is expected upon release unless they are major beat/misses. The preliminary results can be found here (France, Germany, Eurozone).

0900 GMT - UK February new car registrations

An inconsequential data point. The data tracks the number of motor vehicles newly registered for the month in question.

0900 GMT - SNB total sight deposits w.e. 2 March

Your weekly check of the deposits kept at the SNB by Swiss banks. This data point used to matter a bit more post-EUR/CHF floor removal, when people were looking for signs of intervention by the SNB - but it hasn't been a key data point since then.

0930 GMT - UK February services/composite PMI

Prior reading can be found here. Last month's report was a soggy print, and the expectation here is for a slight improvement to 53.3. The services sector accounts for the majority portion of the UK economy, so the data point is one to watch out for.

0930 GMT - Eurozone March Sentix investor confidence

Prior reading can be found here. A minor data point, provides a general sentiment indicator on investors' outlook of the Eurozone economy for the next six months.

1000 GMT - Eurozone January retail sales data

Prior figures can be found here. Also not a data point that's all too important, and a lagging one (January print).

That's about it on the day. A few minor data points here and there to kick off the week, but watch out for more responses on the trade front as well as political developments in Italy.

I wish you all a great day ahead, and as always, good luck with your trading!
